Britney Spears has sold the rights to her entire music catalogue to independent music publisher Primary Wave.
The deal, reportedly signed on December 30, 2025, includes rights to her most iconic hits, from Baby One More Time and Oops!... I Did It Again to Toxic and Gimme More, and is believed to be worth in the “ballpark” of comparable deals, potentially around $200 million, though neither Spears nor Primary Wave have publicly confirmed financial terms.
Spears, who first rose to global fame in the late 1990s and has sold nearly 150 million records worldwide, has not released a studio album since 2016 nor performed live since 2018.
According to Daily Mail, the sale places her among a growing number of high-profile artists who have monetized their back catalogues in recent years, including Justin Bieber, Bruce Springsteen, Shakira and Bob Dylan.
Moreover, the arrangement comes more than four years after the highly publicized end of Spears’ 13-year conservatorship in 2021, a legal constraint that controlled her personal and financial affairs.
While the singer has largely stepped back from the music industry, she recently hinted at a possible future performance overseas alongside her son, although she has stated she would never perform again in the U.S.
