Zayn Malik announced his fifth studio album Konnakol along with the single, Die for Me.
The former One Direction singer, who recently finished Las Vegas residency is set to release his first single following his collaboration with BLACKPINK's Jisoo in October 2025.
As per the HypeBeast the single is set to blend contemporary R&B with intricate rhythmic vocal patterns, meanwhile, the album stems from Malik's desire to explore his heritage through modern lens.
In a previous press release, the Dusk till Dawn singer explained, "Konnakol in its definition is the act of creating percussive sounds with one’s voice but what it means to me lies somewhere much deeper."
He further described it as a primal form of sound that predates the language itself, adding that he has always looked up to his heritage and background to shape his solo music.
The Pillowtalk hitmaker continued that this album reflects a deeper understanding to his identity with a clear sense of "who I am, where I come from and where I intend to go."
The album features production from a diverse group of collaborators, including experimental electronic producers and traditional Indian classical musicians.
Konnakol is slated for release on April 17, meanwhile Die For Me will be released on February 6.
