Ricky Martin finally resumed his concert at Montenegro after a fan halted the show in Europe on May 21.

The Puerto Rican singer’s show was interrupted after an audience member threw tear gas toward the stage.

Following the incident, Ricky’s publicist Róndine Alcalá issued a statement in Spanish and English on social media.

Róndine said this caused an “abrupt interruption of the show as audience members moved away from the area and received assistance”.

According to the publicist, the singer and his team “immediately exited the stage as a precautionary measure while security personnel and local authorities worked to contain the situation and ensure the safety of those in attendance”.

Although Ricky’s team was against continuing the show, the publicist revealed that the singer decided to restart the concert “in order to fulfill his commitment to fans”.

At the time, authorities finally confirmed that the “situation was under control and that attendees could safely return”.

“Ricky Martin and his team are safe and grateful for the support and concern received following tonight’s events in Montenegro,” wrote the publicist.

Interestingly, the singer's fans came out in his support in the comment section.

One said, “Ricky was brave to continue show but I know he only did it knowing all team & fans were ok & safe.”

Another remarked, “How sad! Glad to know everyone is ok.”

Meanwhile, Ricky’s next show will be held in Moldova on June 12.
