Drake sent fans into a frenzy with his scheduled Iceman drop by revealing and simultaneously releasing two more full-length albums Habibti and Maid of Honour at the same time.
The One Dance rapper collaborated with notable artists such as Future and Sexxy Red on the new tracks and also dissed some big artists such as his rap rival Kendrick Lamar.
Although it hasn’t been long since the Canadian rapper dropped the extensive 43 tracks, reviews and speculation over why he made the move has started to take over the internet.
Drake has not yet revealed or confirmed the reason for the triple release but it has caused major waves online with netizens on Reddit wondering if he did it for chart domination, for shock value or to get out of his contract with his record label UMG.
However, internet users detailed the real reason for why the albums did not land with the masses with one writing, “He’s so frustrating because he’s capable of making good music and hits but he chooses downtempo, repetitive and bloated albums instead.”
Another added, “Exactly like old drake was genuinely good which is coming from a Kendrick fan(yes drake fans Kendrick fans can actually like drakes music) but yeah since then everything is for popularity.”
A third put, “Drake needs to take a LONG break and go back to the drawing board. He is huge and clearly has had an impact on the music industry. However, there has been no artistic growth...I feel like he’s capable of more, but everything has been a cash grab.”
