Drake has ignited the music industry once again, with his latest era opening to a record setting start across global streaming platforms.

On Friday, May 15, Spotify revealed the global superstar set a new 2026 record for the most streams in a single day by an artist, fueled by the release of Iceman alongside surprise companion projects Maid of Honour and Habibti.

The platform also confirmed Iceman landed the year’s biggest one-day album debut, while Make Them Cry emerged as the top performing song release of 2026.

Meanwhile, the surge in streaming highlights Drake’s major comeback, as his new music quickly gains control of charts and online buzz.

After long speculation, the recording artist hinted at the rollout through an eye catching ice installation in Toronto, then surprised his fans by revealing three releases during his livestream.

Since dropping, listeners have since flooded online platforms, dissecting lyrics believed to reference several high profile names, including Lamar, LeBron James and DJ Khaled.

Notably, the projects, featuring 21 Savage, Sexyy Red and Future, are already positioning themselves as defining chart moments of the year.
