Charli XCX is opening up about new music and what she thinks about her art and music in the current day and age, on social media.
The Speed Drive singer took to X to share her candid thoughts on how she makes art, giving context into new music.
Charli wrote, “excited for you all to hear this new music. i can only ever make what feels true to me. i’m not thinking about anything else while i’m making it. not reception or audience or anything else. just my connection with it and whether it feels honest to me.”
The Grammy winner added that it was fine if people did not get her and that she is not trying to repel or attract people and is only doing what feels truthful to her.
Charli went on to say, “i think existing as a human being in 2026 is really hard for a multitude of different reasons. my solace is art but sometimes that doesn’t even really feel safe in this day and age. maybe you feel the same idk? just giving you my thoughts.”
The British singer’s introspective and reflective remarks were not well received by most and some internet users mocked her for it.
One internet user wrote, "Your music isn't anywhere near introspective enough for you to be tweeting like you're f***ing Socrates," and another added, "You'll get over it with just 1 sniff of coke."
A third netizen commmented, "when music isn't selling so you need to do this to gain sympathy from the gp lol."
