Train Dreams director Clint Bentley shared his reaction on earning four Oscar nominations.

The Sing Song filmmaker, new movie follows Robert Grainier (Joel Edgerton), moving from job to job as railroads expand across the country.

The film, an adaptation of Denis Johnson’s novella co-written by Bentley and Greg Kwedar, earned nominations in Best Picture, Best Adapted Screenplay, Best Cinematography and Best Original Song.

In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Bentley said that the recognition feels "just as beautiful and surreal."

He added that he is still processing it his Oscar nomination, along with sharing his thoughts on the lead actor's snub.

Praising the lead, he said that huge reason of film's success is because of Edgerton’s performance, and its bitter sweet he was not recognised.

Elsewhere, in an interview with the Deadline, Bentley and Adolpho Veloso expressed genuine astonishment and gratitude.

"We never thought that it would go this far," Bentley said. "But even from the script, it touched people."

Meanwhile, Veloso added, "I feel like it's hard to say, because we had no idea."

He continued, "The first thing was when I got the script, and I was completely in love with what Clint and Greg wrote."

In addition to Edgerton, Felicity Jones, Kerry Condon, William H. Macy, Nathaniel Arcand and few more are also starring in the film.

The Train Dreams is now streaming on Netflix.
