Elle Fanning was over the moon as earned her first-ever Oscar nomination for role in the Sentimental Value.

In addition to the Maleficent star, her co-stars Renate Reinsve, Stellan Skarsgard and Inga Ibsdotter Lilleaas, are also first-time Academy Awards nominees.

The film follows a woman who is forced to reconnect with her estranged father, a famous director, when he unexpectedly returns to her life after the death of her mother.

In an Instagram post capturing her real-time reaction to the news, she appears to be crying while speaking with the Sentimental Value director Joachim Trier and his wife, Fanning wrote, "IS THIS REAL!?!?!?! IS THIS A DREAM!?!?!?!."

"I can't catch my breath. I am in absolute shock," she added.

The Great star expressed her delight saying, "What an honour to have my first Academy Award nomination for a film that acknowledges the power of moviemaking and family!"

She celebrated her nomination with her sister, mother, grandmother and Aunt, screaming, hugging and crying.

Fanning went on to express her gratitude for being placed in the category of talented women and was overjoyed for the recognition the entire cast received.

She concluded the post, "I am filled with so much love. The whole house got nominated."

Sentimental Value is nominated in seven different categories, including Best Picture also.

Oscars will air live on March 15 on ABC.
