Drew Barrymore breaks down over cruel criticism, fans in tears

Drew Barrymore has opened her heart in an emotional moment that left fans deeply moved.

The 50-year-old actress, who found fame as a child in E.T., broke down in tears while looking at a photo of herself aged just 10.

Speaking on The Drew Barrymore Show, she revealed she was harshly judged about her looks from a very young age.

Drew said people told her she was “too heavy”, “not blonde enough” and no longer looked like the little girl from E.T..

The Blended actress admitted that hearing those comments literally broke her heart.

“It had been happening for years,” she shared, explaining that she didn’t know who she was meant to be for others. 

Will Kopelman’s ex-wife said the sadness could be seen in her eyes in the photo, as she struggled with pressure and confusion at an age when no child should.

Now she says that she finally understands what truly matters.

She told viewers that happiness is a choice, even though it can be a hard and ongoing battle.

“I deserve happiness,” she said, adding that it’s okay if it takes time to believe that.

Drew also had a powerful message for young people watching and encouraged them to protect their happiness and set boundaries against hurtful words.
