Rap superstar A$AP Rocky has blasted Reddit moderators after his attempts to promote his upcoming album were repeatedly shut down.
The Long Live A$AP hitmaker took to Reddit in a bid to connect directly with listeners and drum up excitement for his new record, Don’t Be Dumb.
But instead of hype, Rocky was met with a wall of deleted posts and strict moderation rules.
Frustrated, the rapper publicly called out the moderators on the popular r/HipHopHeads subreddit.
“MODS STOP DELETING MY COMMENTS,” he wrote in all caps, clearly unimpressed.
“ARTISTS HAVE TO CHECK IN WITH MODS TO PUSH THEY MUSIC 4 FANS? DON’T BE DUMB.”
Rocky also revealed that videos he tried to upload were removed almost instantly.
“IT WAS UP FOR 1 SECOND. AUTO TAKEDOWN,” he complained, sparking laughter and disbelief among fans watching the drama unfold.
Some users poked fun at the situation, joking that even global rap stars aren’t immune to Reddit’s famously rigid self-promotion rules.
Others pointed out that labels and PR teams usually arrange promotional posts with moderators in advance, something that seemingly didn’t happen here.
What made the clash even stranger is that Rocky’s official Reddit account isn’t new.
He’s previously praised fellow artists and teased music on the platform without issue.
This time, however, the moderation hammer came down hard.
The episode has reignited debate over Reddit’s rules, with some fans questioning whether common sense should prevail when the artist themselves is posting.
For now, it seems even A-list stars have to play by Reddit’s rules or risk getting muted like everyone else.
