Australian actress Rachael Carpani, widely recognized for her beloved role on long-running series McLeod’s Daughters, has died unexpectedly in her mid-forties.

The news of her demise was announced by her parents, Tony and Gael Carpani. Her singer sister, Georgia Carpani, also posted the news on her social media.

The statement penned, “It is with great sadness... that their beautiful daughter, beloved Australian actress Rachael Carpani, unexpectedly but peacefully passed away after a long battle with chronic illness, in the early hours of Sunday 7th December.”

The family further shared that her funeral will be held on December 19 through a private event.

For those unversed, the 45-year-old diseased garnered fame by playing the spirited Jodi Fountain on the popular series McLeod’s Daughters from 2001 to 2009.

Notably, the performance received two prestigious Logie Award nominations in 2007, including a nomination for Gold Logie for 'Most Popular Personality on Television'.

On her official Instagram account, below the pinned post, one fan mourned, “Condolences to the family and friends, I saw them in McLeod’s daughters.”

Another added, “I'm in shock, heartbroken, and in disbelief my condolences to family, friends so sad.”

Additionally, she starred in the 2005 teen comedy Hating Alison Ashley, The Very Excellent Mr. Dundee later had a guest role on NCIS: Los Angeles in 2009.

Most recently, during the 2024 season of the long-running Australian soap, Home and Away, playing role of Claudia Salini.
