American director Rob Reiner’s friend has recalled his final conversation with him.
The director was found dead in his home along with his wife on December 14.
English comedian Eric Idle revealed he talked to the late director just hours before he was stabbed to death.
The 82-year-old wrote on X that he spoke to Rob for “over an hour” the night before his death.
Eric said Rob was a “lovely man” calling him “clever, talented and very thoughtful”.
The comedian wrote “This is so awful. I shall miss him. A clever, talented and very thoughtful man. So awful.”
The two met in 1975 at Rob’s father’s home beginning a 50 year long friendship.
Rob and his wife Michele were found dead at their Brentwood residence on Sunday.
The couple’s bodies were discovered by their daughter Romy.
As per recent reports the couple's son Nick is being investigated for their murder.
Nick was vocal about his addiction battle which also led him to be homeless at one point.
Rob met Michele when he was making his hit romcom When Harry Met Sally and got married in 1989.
