Hoda Kotb opens up about dating mindset at 60s

Veteran journalist Hoda Kotb is ready to start a new chapter in her 60s, while her friends are having a blast over it.

The 61-year-old anchor surprised Jenna Bush Hager as the conversation shifted to Hoda’s single life during the November 25 episode of TODAY With Jenna & Friends.

Hoda, who has been single after splitting with Joel Schiffman in 2022, told Jenna and Andy that she has recently opened her door in ways she had never expected.

The actress and writer gushed with enthusiasm, “This is at my house! I’m having people over! I’m hosting parties!”

Seizing the moment, Andy quickly asked, “Are you hosting gentleman callers?”, leaving Hoda stunned.

Jenna chimed in with, “I’m sure there are,” while Andy further teased her with a mock statement, “Knock knock… Uncle Tony’s here. Hope, go make Uncle Tony that drink he likes. Extra olives!”

Later, Hoda asked Andy how he manages dating as a single parent, to which he admitted he isn’t out much something Hoda related to.

“It’s hard. It’s confusing, and it’s hard… but you find a way,” she said. “I have gone out a little bit. Not on dates yet.”

Andy, 57, playfully suggested trying sliding into DMs “with a little flame emoji.” Jenna instantly inquired, “Is there anybody we should DM right now?”

Hoda has been clear since 2022 about embracing her relationship with respectful splitting. “We decided that we are better as friends and parents than we are as an engaged couple,” she said at the time.

Before that, she was married to Burzis Kanga and is now keenly focused on her home, daughters and gentleman callers.

Notably, Hoda announced in late 2024 that she would leave the show in early 2025, giving more than 25 years of her life to NBC, including 17 years as a regular on TODAY.
