Fashion’s most dazzling night is in motion: Met Gala preparations kick off!
On Wednesday, December 10, Vogue announced that the 2026 Met Gala will return with Beyoncé, Nicole Kidman, Venus Williams, and Anna Wintour co-chairing the academy of the fashion world.
The outlet confirmed that stars from entertainment, sports, and fashion will take centre stage at next year’s Metropolitan Museum of Art Costume Institute spring exhibition.
The event is set to celebrate the theme “Costume Art.”
The upcoming fashion extravaganza will see Beyoncé return to the Met Gala for the first time in ten years. Her last appearance was at the 2016 Manus x Machina gala in Givenchy Haute Couture. Since her debut in 2008, she has graced the event seven times.
The 2026 Met Gala is scheduled to be held on May 4.
The 2026 Met Gala theme, Costume Art, is an astute concept that explores the relationship between clothing and the human body.
The theme celebrates fashion as a true art form, exploring how clothing shapes, frames, and reimagines the human body throughout history, from ancient sculptures to contemporary couture.
For the first time, the exhibition goes without a subtitle, underscoring fashion’s intrinsic bond with the body itself.
