British actress Kate Winslet has opened up about he mother Sally Bridges-Winslet’s death.
In May 2017, Sally passed away after a battle with ovarian cancer.
The Titanic star admitted she was in an emotional conflict during her mother’s final days.
The actress revealed that her mother spent her final days in a private hospital ward even though her lifelong wish was to remain under NHS care.
The 50-year-old said “We all felt horribly conflicted about it.”
She added “We were really upset for her, because she was so adamant she wanted NHS all the way.”
Kate said that the conflict rose because there was only one bed available at the time and it was private.
The Oscar winner is now promoting her son’s directorial project Goodbye June, which is inspired form her mother’s passing.
The drama is written by her son Joe Anders, which Kate is facing a hard time to promote.
Kate also revealed that she would cry on set off the cameras as she was “reliving” the loss.
Its been 8 years since her mother’s death, but Kate said it “still feels like yesterday”.
