Why did King Charles not attend Kate Middleton’s Christmas carol service?

Kate Middleton’s annual Christmas carol service was held at the Westminster Abbey on December 5.

This year marked the fifth event organised by the princess, which is often called her “baby”.

Many celebrities and royal family members attended the event, however, the British monarch, King Charles and his wife Queen Camilla did not attend the event.

The future queen arrived at the abbey at 4pm, an hour before her husband and kids arrived, to do last minute check ins.

However, the king was not in attendance and there could be a reason why.

Since this is Kate’s passion project, it is possible that the king wanted the Prince and Princess of Wales to be the senior most royals at the event.

Charles and Camilla have attended Kate’s carol service in the past in 2022, the year Queen Elizabeth passed away and the service was dedicated to her.

Other royal guests included Sophie, the Duchess of Edinburgh, the Duchess of Gloucester, Queen Elizabeth's first cousin, Prince Michael of Kent, and Zara and Mike Tindall.
