Meghan Markle’s new holiday special on Netflix is already causing a stir, and fans think the Duchess slipped in a not-so-subtle dig at Princess Kate.
With Love, Meghan: Holiday Celebration dropped on Netflix the same day King Charles and Queen Camilla hosted the German state visit, and just hours after Princess Kate released a heartfelt letter to guests attending her annual carol service.
In the festive special, Meghan gushes about her love of Christmas trees, advent calendars and handmade decorations, saying trees allow you to "really encapsulate your family story, really feel the passage of time and the different chapters of your life through the ornaments."
Dressed in matching red holiday pajamas with close friends Lindsay Jill Roth and Kelly Zajfen, Meghan leans into wholesome DIY crafts, but one moment in particular raised eyebrows.
While the trio made Christmas wreaths, one of Meghan’s friends asked: “Aren’t bows in right now?” Meghan responded coyly: “That’s what you told me…”
The exchange wouldn’t normally make headlines, except Princess Kate has been wearing bows nonstop this season.
From hair bows to structured bow details on dresses, the Princess of Wales has made the accessory her signature look, including during Donald Trump’s UK visit in September.
Last year, both Kate and Princess Charlotte wore matching bows at the royal Christmas concert. So to royal watchers, Meghan’s bow banter landed as a gentle, pointed wink.
Later in the episode, Meghan even slips in another bow reference during her Tips and Tricks for Festive Wrapping segment.
She advises: "If you fold it outwardly instead of inwardly, it creates a different world there." Before quickly adding: "A little bow right there could be awfully darling."
