Prince Harry may have been holding out hope for a Christmas reunion with King Charles but royal insiders now claim Meghan Markle’s latest “breach” could derail everything.
A new claim from author Kaitlyn Greenidge has ignited fresh outrage from royal commentators. In a recent Harper’s Bazaar interview, Greenidge said she accompanied Meghan to a Manhattan property belonging to billionaire beauty mogul Victoria Jackson and a staff member introduced Meghan not casually, but formally as “the Duchess of Sussex”.
And that announcement reportedly happened despite only two people being in the room.
Royal commentators say this crosses a major line. British broadcaster Helena Chard told Fox News Digital: "This is not protocol, let alone Royal protocol."
She added: "It's peculiar and underscores that Meghan places tremendous value on her Royal status. Meghan will hold onto her Duchess of Sussex title as it gives her a sense of significance. The title remains beneficial for Meghan's business ventures, especially in the United States. It sparks conversation and keeps her in the spotlight."
Others were even more blunt. Journalist Jane Moore wrote in The Sun: "The Sussexes supposedly 'Megxited' from the UK five years ago for a life of 'financial independence', yet they continue to exploit their Royal connections for their own commercial benefit."
Moore called their approach “hilariously egotistical and breathtakingly hypocritical.”
The backlash comes at the worst possible time for Harry, who has reportedly been hoping for a royal thaw this Christmas.
According to Closer, he’s eagerly waiting for a signal from his father. An insider said: "Harry is on tenterhooks waiting to get the go-ahead to visit King Charles in England at Christmas and is adamant that he needs to be with his father any chance he gets."
