Prince William paid a private visit to children from Gaza who are undergoing treatment in UK hospitals amid the humanitarian crisis in Palestine.
A Kensington Palace spokesperson told People that William was able to offer “his heartfelt gratitude” to staff at National Health Service hospitals in the U.K.
The future king wanted to thank the staff for “providing exceptional care during such a profoundly difficult time.”
“The Prince wished to offer a moment of comfort to these young people who have endured experiences no child should ever face,” the spokesperson commented.
The source also reported that the prince was “moved” by the courage shown by the children and their families in the time of crisis.
He was also touched by the team who are supporting them with such “professionalism and humanity.”
The Gazan children are under care in UK as part of a government mission to provide care for them due to the collapse of medical infrastructure in Palestine.
William has famously followed the situation closely as previously he also met the Palestinian leader President Mahmoud Abbas.
In February 2024, William expressed his concern for the Middle East.
