Meghan Markle is receiving backlash once again and this time its being dubbed as a disastrous PR move.
The Duchess of Sussex did an exclusive cover story for Harper’s Bazaar last week which saparked buzz.
When the journalist Kaitlyn Greenidge arrived to interview Meghan, her arrival was announced with royal protocol as the house manager announced “Meghan, duchess of Sussex” before she arrived.
The move is being slammed as “gimicky” and “crunge” by royal fans as many believe that for someone who moves away from UK and stepped down from their royal duties, using the royal titles is “hypocritical”.
PR expert Renae Smith spoke to The Express explaining how this is a damaging move for the duchess who is trying to establish her independent brand with products and shows.
“From a PR perspective, it is such a bad idea”, Renae said.
She added “It is confusing, it is provocative in the wrong way and it puts her straight back beneath the royal shadow she always bloody insists she wants to get away from.”
Previously, Meghan was called out when on her show With Love, Meghan, she corrected Mingy Kaling who called her “Markle” saying “You know I’m Sussex now”.
