Sarah Ferguson is reportedly distancing herself from her disgraced former husband, Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor, after both were hit with a new round of damaging revelations about their ties to Jeffrey Epstein.
According to royal insiders, the former Duchess of York is now facing one of the most significant reputational crises of her life, losing her title, her home at Royal Lodge, and several professional opportunities as publishers and charities cut ties with her.
The backlash intensified after an email emerged showing Fergie referring to Epstein as her “supreme friend,” despite her representatives insisting she only used the phrase under pressure after the late financier allegedly threatened legal action.
With her public standing severely damaged, Fergie, 66, is now said to be weighing whether to give a tell-all interview or even write a bombshell memoir detailing her experiences.
But royal commentator Richard Fitzwilliams has warned that whatever she chooses next will determine whether she has any hope of repairing her tarnished image.
Speaking to the Express, he said: “If she is after a fast buck, she might well go back on Oprah or choose another outlet. This would give her publicity.
“In the past, she was able to make comebacks after she was hit by scandals and was admired for this, with charities deserting her after it was proved that she lied regarding her links with Epstein. This seems highly unlikely.”
"It depends on what her priorities are, how much money she actually has and what her plans are. We will doubtless discover soon, she was a disaster as a working royal and is totally shameless.”
Fitzwilliams went further, suggesting Ferguson has now stepped back from Andrew entirely: “She is discredited and appears to have abandoned Andrew insofar as we know. Also, if the interviews given by Andrew Lownie, author of Entitled: The rise and fall of the House of York, are anything to go by, a large amount is yet to be revealed, which could prove extremely embarrassing to her.”
Sources have told the Express that Fergie may be preparing a tell-all memoir similar to Prince Harry’s Spare.
