Sarah Ferguson eyes life in Switzerland as Andrew is forced out of Royal Lodge

Sarah Ferguson may soon be spending extended periods outside the UK as Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor’s royal downfall accelerates, according to striking new claims by royal biographer Andrew Lownie.

Speaking on the Daily Express news show, Lownie suggested that the former Duchess of York is now quietly distancing herself as Andrew’s public reputation and royal standing continue to collapse.

“Fergie’s abandoned him, he’s lost his attraction,” he claimed, pointing to Andrew’s eviction from Royal Lodge and the loss of his princely status as decisive turning points.

He added that with the disgraced royal stripped of titles and influence, Sarah “is going to do her own thing.”

Lownie expanded on his theory, saying: "Fergie's abandoned him, he's lost his attraction, now he's no longer in Royal Lodge and a Prince. And she's gonna do her own thing. She's kind of gonna it's a bit like Meghan and Harry, lots and lots of parallels there.”

"So I don't know where she goes. She may go to Switzerland, I think she may, you know, could go quietly somewhere in London, keep low for a while, but I think she'll be back."

His comments add another layer of speculation to Sarah’s future, coming amid her own reputational challenges.

Lownie revisited prior allegations involving her connections to Jeffrey Epstein, asserting that she had stayed in properties linked to the convicted sex offender as late as 2013 and 2014, despite having previously stated she cut ties.

The biographer also weighed in on Andrew’s forced removal from Royal Lodge, framing it as part of a broader pattern of long-term protection from within the monarchy.

“There is a contract between the people and the monarchy. They get respect when they serve us well. When they behave in ways seen as self-serving, they’re in trouble.”

Lownie suggested Sarah will ultimately resurface in Britain, but believes her priority now is creating distance from Andrew’s spiralling controversies.
