Prince William had an emotional reunion with the widow of late rugby hero Rob Burrow.
Rob passed away on June 2 in 2024 after battling with Motor Neurone Disease (MND) for around five years.
William met the widor of late athlete at the opening of Rob Burrow Centre for Motor Neurone Disease at Seacroft Hospital.
The prince headed to Leeds to meet Lindsey Burrow on November 20.
The centre is the first in Uk that is purpose-built health center focused completely on MND care, research and education.
The future king spent time with the loved ones of Rob including his wife and their children Macy, Maya and Jackson.
He also met Rob’s friend and fellow-player Kevin Sinfield, who raised more than $14 million for MND charities.
Rob retired from professional rugby league at the end of the 2017 season, just two years before he was diagnosed with the disease.
Kensington Palace also shared a statement on Rob’’s legacy and how the centre puts patients and their families at the heart of their treatments.
The project was made possible after $8.8 million were raised led by Leeds Hospitals Charity and Burrow's consultant Dr Agam Jung.
