Sabrina Carpenter denied role of ‘Rapunzel’ in live action ‘Tangled’?

Sabrina Carpenter has reportedly auditioned to play the highly anticipate role of Rapunzel from Tangled, and also been rejected for one reason.
An update on the character’s live action representation last arrived from Gigi Hadid a few months ago, when she told Kendall Jenner she had auditioned for the part as well.
As per ‘MyTimeToShineHello’ on X (formerly Twitter), the Espresso hit maker got rejected since she was “too pretty” for the role, whereas the compny wanted someone who looked more regular.
The outlet also added that Gigi’s sister, Bella Hadid has been rejected as well by Disney, leaving a handful of other A-list stars that fit the look.
Internet users reacted to the news with surprise and confusion, with many arguing that the reason for letting Sabrina down was somewhat absurd.
“So basically anybody that does get the role means they’ll have to live with knowing Disney thinks Sabrina carpenter looks better than them… yikes I bet they wish that never came up in conversation,” one netizen wrote.
“’Too pretty’ to play a Disney Princess?? I’m afraid the plot has been lost. No Princess has looked ‘ordinary’. Part of the point is they’re always gorgeous that’s why the princes and men are always blown away by their beauty,” added another.
A third user pointed out “…there’s no official word from Disney that Sabrina Carpenter is cast as Rapunzel in a live-action Tangled. It’s all fan speculation so far... If you see articles claiming it’s fake, unless Disney confirms it which they have not.”
