Kate Middleton is reportedly quietly encouraging Prince Harry to make his next trip to the UK without Meghan Markle, hoping to help him begin repairing his fractured relationship with Prince William.
Harry and William’s estrangement has stretched on for months, and although the Duke of Sussex has spoken publicly about still loving and missing his family, no meaningful steps toward a reconciliation have taken place.
Now, according to a new insider report, the Princess of Wales is doing everything she can behind the scenes to “keep a bridge open” for her brother-in-law.
The source claims Kate has “tried everything to get William to soften on Harry, and Meghan as well” but “there's just no moving with him.”
The insider told Heat World that Kate is now taking a more strategic approach, encouraging Harry to return on his own “as proof that he's his own man.”
According to the source, Kate believes this would show William that Harry isn't “joined at the hip with his wife,” and could help him begin rebuilding trust.
The source explained: “Her hands are tied, so in the spirit of being practical, she's urging Harry to come back without Meghan on his next trip, as proof that he's his own man and not joined at the hip with his wife.”
“She believes it's the only way he can start rebuilding his reputation in William's eyes. Kate is trying to keep a bridge open for Harry before it's too late but it does feel a little insurmountable. William's anger and mistrust just runs so deep.”
The insider added that Kate genuinely wants Harry, and his children, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet, to have a future place within the royal family.
“Kate wants a place for Harry, and his children, in the royal fold. She'd never be so cruel as to try and meddle in his marriage but she certainly doesn't see the harm in him having some autonomy and being allowed to have a relationship with his homeland and his family.”
