Princess Anne called the 'ultimate antidote' to 'embattled' Andrew amid fresh scandal

Princess Anne has been celebrated as the “ultimate antidote” to disgraced Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor, with her recent overseas tour winning praise across the Commonwealth.

As the Royal Family continues to grapple with the fallout surrounding Andrew, Anne stepped into the spotlight with a packed six-day schedule across Australia and Singapore, offering the Firm a much-needed moment of stability.

Her trip began with four days in Australia before she moved on to Singapore, and despite heavy rainfall, the Princess Royal powered through every engagement.

One staff member captured her famously unfazed attitude in a remark to The Times: “She doesn’t get rained off,” while the princess herself is known for saying: “there is no such thing as bad weather, only unsuitable clothing.”

The outlet’s Roya Nikkhah wrote that “As the Royal Family continued to be buffeted by the scandal surrounding the disgraced Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor, Anne was busying herself overseas as the ultimate antidote to the former prince known as ‘Airmiles Andy’.”

Her work overseas was also enthusiastically received by those close to the trip. A royal source said: “Her Royal Highness’s visit to Singapore offered a wonderful opportunity to deepen the longstanding friendship between our two nations.”
