Bollywood icon Dharmendra has been admitted to the hospital due to some health concerns, though fans were worried about the actor’s deteriorating health.
On Monday, November 10, the 89-year-old actor was admitted to Mumbai's Breach Candy Hospital for doctors to observe his condition.
Although rumours of Dharmendra’s death spread like wildfire on social media, his wife and successful Bollywood actress, Hema Malini, posted an emotional message on X (formerly Twitter) to clarify the doubts.
“I thank everyone for their concern about Dharam ji, who is in hospital for observation,” the actress wrote. “He is being continuously monitored, and we are all with him. I request you all to pray for his welfare and speedy recovery.”
After Malini’s statement, Dharmendra’s family, including Sunny Deol and Tanya Deol, rushed to the hospital.
Rumours had earlier claimed that the legendary star had been put on a ventilator, creating dread among fans. But his son’s publicity team shared a statement to clear the air:
"Mr Dharmendra is stable and under observation,” Team Sunny Deol wrote in a statement. “Further comments and updates will be shared as available. Kindly don't indulge in spreading false rumours regarding his health.”
Karan and Rajveer Deol were also spotted arriving to support their grandfather.
Sources told IANS that Dharmendra is under the close supervision of a team of top doctors. While the exact reason for his hospitalisation hasn’t been revealed, many believe it began as a routine check-up that required extended care.
Fans are now sending their best wishes, hoping for a speedy recovery as the veteran actor’s 90th birthday approaches on December 8.
