David Beckham found himself in a bit of a bang on Bonfire Night after a firework exploded right in front of him during a home display on Wednesday.
The 50-year-old football legend was caught on camera by wife Lady Victoria Beckham as he attempted to light a rogue firework in the family’s courtyard, with disastrous and hilarious results.
“Careful! Don’t go too close!” the Posh Spice warned, moments before the former England captain jumped out of his skin when the firework burst into flames.
“Are you alright, babe?” she teased, laughing as David bolted to safety.
The 51-year-old fashion designer cheekily captioned the Instagram Story: “That’s how the Beckhams do firework night!”
The comical mishap came just a day after Sir David’s emotional knighthood ceremony at Windsor Castle, where King Charles presented him with the long-awaited honour.
His proud parents, Ted and Sandra, watched from the crowd alongside Victoria and their children Romeo, Cruz, and Harper.
However, eldest son Brooklyn was notably absent, with reports suggesting he hasn’t spoken to his father amid a growing family rift.
Despite the drama, Sir David reflected on his milestone moment, calling it “a day full of emotion and tears” and one his entire family “can be proud of.”
David Beckham received his knighthood in recognition of his services to football, charity, and humanitarian causes.
The honour celebrates his legendary sporting career, including captaining the England national team and playing for clubs like Manchester United, Real Madrid, LA Galaxy, and Paris Saint-Germain, as well as his extensive charity work.
He has been a long-time UNICEF Goodwill Ambassador, supporting children’s welfare across the world, and has contributed to numerous global initiatives focused on education, health, and poverty reduction.
