Joaquin Consuelos marked an important occasion in his life he premiere of his first Broadway production on Thursday night.
In May 2025, the 23-year-old actor graduated with a B.A. in the School of Music, Theatre and Dance at the University of Michigan.
Now he is starring in a revival of Arthur Miller's Death of a Salesman directed by Tony Award winners Nathan Lane and Laurie Metcalf.
Parents Kelly Ripa and Mark Consuelos, among others were present to support him on his big night and they all posed together at the after party held at Deli Katz.
"It was unbelievable," the 55-year-old American actress and talk show host said of the play after watching it on March 10.
"The entire production is incredible and just to see Joaquin up there took my breath away," she noted.
She stated her feelings, "If you would have told me when he was a newborn, 'Oh 22 years from now he'll be starring on Broadway in Death of a Salesman,' I would have thought you were on drugs."
Ripa was absent at the initial preview on March 6 as Joaquin requested her not to attend the event.
"He said, 'Mom, no. Just wait 'til opening night,'" she remembered. Mark, nevertheless, purchased a ticket and surprised his son.
"He's amazing. He did such a good job," Mark, 55, said, that he did not blink at all during the three-hour play.
Moreover, American actor shared, "I was watching him with a smile on my face. And cried."
Mark is also starring in his Broadway debut this season in Fallen Angels by Noel Coward which previews on March 27, and opens on April 19.
