Jean Smart warns 'HBO' after admitting set theft

Jean Smart might be taking a farewell to Deborah Vance but she is not going away with the Hacks vacancy.

During the conversation of PEOPLE at premiere of the fifth season that the actress reflected at her legendary role in Los Angeles on April 8.

The 74-year-old recalled about the final days of the show and the souvenir that she was able to snatch.

"Somebody just reminded me, 'Well, this is your last premiere for Deborah.' I was like, oh my God, all these lasts. It's weird," Smart said, calling the event "very bittersweet."

The emotional moments she experienced on the set included the announcement of wraps on particular rooms by crews. 

She explained, "They'd go, 'Okay, that's a wrap on Deborah's bedroom.' You go, 'Whoa, what? That's one of my favorite rooms... This is the last time?'"

"Then they go, 'Okay, that's a wrap on Deborah's kitchen.' I was like, 'No, no, no, this island is mine! This is my fantasy island,'" she noted.

However, Smart was able to bring home one of them. Before she revealed that she had stolen some drapes in the bedroom of her character she teased HBO by asking him, "Is HBO listening?"

Co-star Hannah Einbinder also has souvenirs, such as the drivers license of Ava, credit card, hospital bracelet and much of her clothing, which she stashes in her jewelry box.

Lucia Aniello and Paul W. Downs, show creators, borrowed pepper shakers in the large collection of Deborah.

Additionally, the fifth and last season of Hacks is scheduled to be released on April 9, HBO Max. 

Notably, new episodes are released on Thursdays at 9 p.m. ET.
