Ryan Seacrest has sparked debate after questioning whether pricey engagement rings are really worth it.
The 51-year-old presenter insisted that he’d rather spend the money on meaningful experiences.
Ryan, currently single after his 2024 split from Aubrey Paige, opened up on his radio show about modern relationships and shifting priorities.
Speaking on On Air with Ryan Seacrest, he pointed out that the average engagement ring in the US costs around $10,000 (roughly £8,000) and asked whether couples could spend that money more wisely.
The reality TV star said many people are now questioning tradition, adding, “Think about what you could do with your partner for that amount.
How important is the engagement ring?”
He admitted he finds the idea of skipping the ring altogether “makes a lot of sense”, especially for couples focused on building a deeper connection.
Looking ahead to his own future romance, Ryan revealed he’s more interested in shared memories than flashy jewellery.
Ryan’s comments come after his amicable split from Aubrey, with insiders confirming the pair ended their three-year relationship on good terms and remain supportive friends.
Before Aubrey, he famously dated dancer Julianne Hough, but it seems his outlook on love has evolved.
