Perrie Edwards revealed about her past as she reminisced about old days when she was still working in a girl group, Little Mix.
The English singer who is now engaged to the footballer, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain opened up in a candid interview for the upcoming docu-series by BBC, Girlbands Forever.
While previously in a conversation on We Need to Talk podcast, Perrie has called her relationship with Zayn Malik “toxic”, now she has revealed that she used to get panic attacks.
Perrie initially started getting trolled on social media after they gained popularity in 2011 but it only got worse when she started dating Zayn, who was part of One Direction at that time.
After getting engaged and later breaking it off in 2015, the Shout out to My Ex hit maker revealed it got so much worse for her that she was admitted to the hospital.
She said, “You’re hurting enough as it is, let alone everyone having an opinion about you.”
The 32-year-old songstress added further, “Everyone wants to know your business and feels like they have ownership in that, you can’t escape it so you may as well just sing about it.”
The song became biggest hit to date as she dissed her ex harshly in it.
She explained how everything hurt her and impacted her mental health as she concluded, “I didn’t know what was happening at the time, I didn’t know what anxiety was. I ended up in hospital.”
The singer, who recently released her self-titled album in September, got teary eyed as she looked back on those days and pitied herself.
For the unfamiliar, the band Little Mix broke up officially in 2022 which consisted of four members, Perrie, Jesy Nelson, Leigh-Anne Pinnock, and Jade Thirlwell.
