A petition to remove singer Bad Bunny as the performer at the Super Bowl Halftime Show has garnered 100, 000+ signs from singers.
Specifically, the Change.org petition demands that the Latin artist be replaced by beloved country artist, George Strait.
The National Football League's (NFL) decision to choose the popular Puerto Rican singer for the performance at Levi's Stadium in Santa Clara, California has garnered major criticism.
The petition claims that Bunny’s style of performance and music is completely at odds with what American families want during football games.
Insisting that the event should be kept “family friendly”, organizer Kar Shell claims that politics should be kept out of games to represent traditional American values.
They did not clarify how the mere selection of Bunny for the performance was political in itself.
President Donald Trump insisted he had “never heard of” Bad Bunny after his selection for the Super Bowl, despite the singer’s rampant popularity and several appearances on projects Trump is known to watch, like Saturday Night Live.
“I don’t know who he is,” he insisted. “I don’t know why they’re doing it. It’s, like, crazy. I think it’s absolutely ridiculous.”
