Wicked director Jon M. Chu reflected on warning Ariana Grande and Cynthia Erivo against getting a movie-related tattoo until they watched the upcoming sequel.
Ariana and Cynthia turned their latest Wicked: For Good promo into more than just a press moment; it marked a personal milestone for both stars.
On Saturday, November 1, the director posted an Instagram Story featuring the vocal queens’ hands with matching “For Good” tattoos.
“I cautioned them to maybe wait to get any tattoos about the movie until AFTER they see it… but they opted to ignore me and got them on like day three of rehearsals,” Jon captioned the Story.
Grande later added some context and a little fact check, writing to her Instagram Stories, “LOL, I remember you saying that and being like, ‘omg… what does THAT MEAN??????’”
The singer noted that the tattoo represents their “experiencing, creating, and feeling in our hearts, not the end result.”
She also clarified that they got the tattoos the evening after filming For Good.
Wicked: For Good will hit theatres on November 21.
