Andrew Lloyd Webber is gushing over Lady Gaga’s Mayhem Ball show, praising her captivating energy with the audience and calling her a “world superstar.”
On October 10, the Oscar and Grammy-winning composer shared a video on his official social media accounts, praising Gaga after attending one of her tour stops in London.
“I loved the Lady Gaga concert,” he began. “It was really fabulous. She really knows how to handle an audience, and it was a great evening.”
Andrew continued, “It was so wonderful, actually, to see somebody really singing live rather than, as we know, some artists who are miming to a pre-recorded track.”
The 77-year-old music legend, known for The Phantom of the Opera, added that it was a “really fabulous live concert.”
The Broadway veteran also praised Gaga for referencing The Phantom of the Opera throughout her performance.
“Of course, I was really, really pleased to see an opera house on stage and even more pleased to see a boat with her in it being rowed across the big auditorium that is the O2,” Andrew noted.
He added, “It reminded me of something that I might have had a little involvement with. But I thought the concert was absolutely fabulous, and I think Lady Gaga is absolutely a world superstar.”
The Grammy and Oscar-winning singer gave a sweet response to Andrew’s video, commenting with a crying emoji on his TikTok post.
“This is a dream come true,” Gaga wrote.
