Pop sensation Lady Gaga joins Meryl Streep and Anne Hathaway in The Devil Wears Prada sequel
Oscar-winning singer and actress Lady Gaga has officially joined The Devil Wears Prada sequel from 20th Century Studios in an undisclosed role, as per Deadline.
While the studio has declined to comment, speculation about Gaga’s casting caught fire after photos of her on set surfaced online.
First announced in July 2024, the sequel reunites original stars Meryl Streep, Anne Hathaway, Emily Blunt, and Stanley Tucci, bringing back the film’s iconic high-fashion squad.
Based on Lauren Weisberger’s 2003 novel, the 2006 original followed Andy Sachs (Hathaway), a journalism graduate navigating the ruthless world of fashion under the sharp gaze of Miranda Priestly (Streep).
The upcoming sequel, slated for release on May 1, 2026, is expected to focus on Priestley’s perspective as she faces the decline of the print magazine era.
Production began in June, with Tracie Thoms and Tibor Feldman also reprising their roles. New cast members include Kenneth Branagh, Simone Ashley, Lucy Liu, Justin Theroux, B.J. Novak, Pauline Chalamet, Rachel Bloom, and Patrick Brammall.
Director David Frankel and screenwriter Aline Brosh McKenna, the duo behind the original hit, have reunited for the sequel, with Wendy Finerman and Karen Rosenfelt producing.
