Lizzo has dished the details of her musical comeback after facing some tough times in the public eye, and how she had once lost faith in it.
The About Damn Time singer faced a lot of backlash after her former employees came out to claim that the rapper was creating a hostile work environment by allegedly making weight-shaming remarks and even sexual harassment.
In her latest interview with Vulture, the Good as Hell singer revealed, "I had forgotten how to trust myself, I think, musically, I have been on a path to losing myself for a long time."
Lizzo also highlighted that she then decided to her power back by sitting down with her record label and telling them brace themselves as she steps into a more authentic chapter in her music.
“I sat down at the table and I said, ‘I need to do s**t my way starting from now. And I need y’all to have my back. It’s going to be a little scary, the Grammy winner stated, adding, “and everybody agreed, and they said, ‘We got your back, whatever you need.’”
Lizzo disclosed in March of this year that she was all done with her fifth studio album but couldn’t release it because of the ongoing legal troubles.
Due to her fame, Lizzo has struggled with severe mental health disorders such as depression and anxiety.
