Ryan Reynolds is opening about how grief has a very strange way of finding people at random times, reflecting on his own journey with it after the loss of a loved one.

The Green Lantern actor talked about his father’s passing in 2015, and the one instance the realization of the fact hit him during an interview.

During a question and answer session for the upcoming documentary produced by him, John Candy: I Like Me the 48-year-old made some solemn confessions. 

Ryan stated, "The grief thing is odd. I find it hits you at weird times. When my father passed away, we had a complicated relationship."

He continued, "There's an episode with Jimmy Fallon that exists where you'll see me lose my train of thought, I'm in the middle of a story. There it is, just hits me like a f*** freight train."

The Red Notice actor’s dad, James, who died at 74 after a two-decade long battle with Parkisons disease, had passed away several years prior to the interview.

Ryan also talked about how in times like those, how words of support can seem inconsequential because of the uniqueness of the experience for the person.
