Reese Witherspoon, known for her empowering roles, is on a mission to uplift the next generation of female stars.

The 49-year-old actress, who rose to fame with her breakout role in Legally Blonde, spoke passionately about the power of mentorship during her media company’s annual Shine Away event in Los Angeles over the weekend.

She revealed that she’s determined to “pass the microphone” to women who are finding their footing in Hollywood.

While speaking to E! News, she told, “Mentorship is everything.”

“I just had lunch with my mentor yesterday — she guided me through my 20s, helped me make big career and personal decisions. It’s so important for women to connect and share those words of wisdom.”

Reese, who recently welcomed five new mentees into the Hello Sunshine Collective, said the initiative reflects the very soul of her company. 

“Hello Sunshine was never just about me. It’s about shining a light on another woman and her accomplishments,” she said proudly.

The Oscar winner has already made waves producing female-led hits like The Morning Show and Daisy Jones & the Six and says her younger self “would be blown away” by what she’s built.

The Shine Away weekend brought together powerhouse women including Chrissy Teigen, Brittany Snow and Olivia Culpo, for a celebration of connection and creativity.
