Ryan Reynolds has found himself in hot water after cracking a controversial joke about getting a vasectomy and describing his two-year-old son Olin as “violent” and “creepy.”

The Deadpool actor, 48, made the eyebrow-raising comments during an appearance on Late Night with Seth Meyers on Thursday, where he was promoting a John Candy documentary.

Reflecting on life with wife Blake Lively and their four kids, Reynolds joked, “We live in a very... like there’s nothing violent in our home. There’s nothing creepy. [But Olin] came out with three things on his mind — violence, breasts, and engines.”

He then added, “If I had three boys at first, I would’ve given myself a punching vasectomy.”

The remark sparked outrage online, with critics branding his comments “disgusting” and “disturbing.”

One Reddit user blasted, “Who talks about their child like that?” while another fumed, “It’s beyond gross — we need to start fundraising for their kids’ therapy.”

Others accused the actor of hijacking the documentary’s promo tour to talk about himself, with one fan writing, “Ryan just veers everything off course with his stupid anecdotes.”

Still, some came to his defense, insisting it was typical Reynolds humour. “It’s called sarcasm, people,” one fan wrote.

The Proposal actor previously told People that his kids share dual Canadian-American citizenship, adding proudly, “They feel a real connection to that.”
