Metro Boomin’s assault trial reaches speedy verdict

Metro Boomin’s civil trial reaches a verdict in around an hour, after the producer was sued by a former friend Vanessa LeMaistre for rape and sexual assault.

The influential figure, whose real name is Leland Tyler Wayne, was accused of forcing himself onto the plaintiff at a Beverly Hills hotel room in 2016 after she had blacked out.

After all the evidence was presented in court, the jury in the case found The Weeknd collaborator not liable on all four causes of action in the case, absolving him of any legal consequences.

The decision was unanimous and came as a result of LeMaistre not being able to provide sufficient evidence with her claims.

In quotes obtained by People, following the verdict Wayne said, “"I'm grateful and thankful to God that I can finally put all of this nonsense behind me. Based off of how I treat others and represent myself, never in a million years would I have thought I could be accused of such a disgusting and heinous act."

The Like That producer continued, "Today I took a victory in court but in reality there is a long list of losses I stacked up in this year long process of clearing my name and reputation.”

Meanwhile LeMaistre refused to comment, but her lead attorney Michael J. Willemin hinted that they aim to have the verdict overturned by submitting an appeal.
