Sean “Diddy” Combs appeared in court once again, as part of him and his defense team’s continued efforts to prevent his serving any time in jail.

The former talent manager, whose sentencing date is set for October 3rd, is fighting to be rid of his two counts of transportation for prostitution, in connection to an anonymous victim “Jane” and ex-girlfriend Cassie Ventura.

In the hearing on Thursday, the rap mogul’s attorneys asked Judge Arun Subramanian to either overturn the convictions or grant a new trial.

The Bad Boy Records founder’s legal team argues that the judgement was a misuse of the Mann’s act, which they have been insisting ever since Diddy was found guilty.

Meanwhile, the act which was first passed in 1910 makes it illegal for a person to transport people to different locations for the purpose of immoral sexual activity or prostitution.

The New York judge adjourned the request and has not given his ruling on the matter as of yet, but it appears that he might not comply with the defendant’s wishes.

Notably, Diddy could face a maximum of ten years in prison for each count but his lawyers are proposing that he only serve a few months of jail time since he has been held in custody ever since the tral began.

What were the charges against Diddy?

Diddy was indicted in the Southern District of New York on charges of racketeering, sex trafficking by force and transportation for purposes of prostitution, and was only found guilty of the last charge, respectively.
