Emma Watson shocks Harry Potter fans with unexpected confession

Emma Watson, who is currently on a career break, has made a surprising confession about her love life.

The 35-year-old star, who rose to global fame as clever Hermione Granger in Harry Potter, admitted that romance has been far from magical, describing her dating life as a “complete disaster.”

Speaking on Jay Shetty’s On Purpose podcast, Emma revealed she feels most at ease with partners who haven’t seen her blockbuster films.

She explained that it’s a relief when people don’t instantly associate her with her famous character.

“It does feel like my avatar enters the room unexpectedly,” she shared.

“Suddenly, the whole vibe changes. It can feel really dehumanising – watching someone’s behaviour completely switch is jarring.”

The actress laughed that the dating world is a “free-for-all,” but confessed she takes comfort in knowing she isn’t the only one struggling.

“Sometimes people apologise for not having seen my films. And I’m like, ‘Please don’t apologise – that’s music to my ears!’” she added.

The Beauty and the Beast actress also spoke candidly about the pressures of fame, admitting she often felt “caged” during her acting career.

Currently, she is keeping a low profile as she pursues her doctorate at Oxford, stepping away from the spotlight to focus on her studies.
