Taylor Swift’s repeated use of one specific easter egg has spawned wild theories about her career in music, and perhaps even retirement.

The Karma singer has been heavily teasing a specific fire “exit” sign lately, in connection to her twelfth studio album The Life of a Showgirl, which has concerned fan about a full or partial retirement.

Since the global popstar is embracing her showgirl status and has centered the upcoming album around luxury, theatrics and the differences between a private life and a more public, performative persona, the move could be possible.

In a TikTok, an internet user who goes by the name Nikki outlined all the times she has used the symbol and paired with the fire heart which is supposed to represent this era, the theory has significant merit.

Taylor also talked about a “grand finale” in her latest Instagram post as well as a showgirl saving her best tricks for last.

Meanwhile others argue that this is the 14-time Grammy winner’s way of leaving her ‘eras’ in the past and moving on to bigger and better things.

Notably, Taylor has previously stated that she plans on making music for as long which somewhat disproves the theory of a complete retirement.
