Star Trek star William Shatner has broken his silence after a sudden medical scare, insisting he’s “perfectly fine” despite being rushed to hospital.
The 94-year-old acting legend was whisked away by paramedics on Wednesday afternoon, sparking fears for his health.
But just a day later, the Captain Kirk star took to Instagram to calm the frenzy, cheekily declaring: “Rumours of my demise have been greatly exaggerated.”
Sharing a smiling snap, Shatner admitted he had merely “over indulged” and thanked fans for their concern.
He even joked: “I keep telling you all: don’t trust tabloids or AI!”
His agent confirmed to TMZ that the emergency call was precautionary after a minor blood sugar issue at his California home.
Shatner was checked over at a nearby hospital and swiftly discharged, returning home the same day.
The veteran actor, who has three daughters with his first wife, Gloria Rand, has never shied away from speaking candidly about life after Star Trek.
Earlier this month, he revealed he earned nothing from the hit show’s reruns, despite its cult following.
“Nobody knew about re-runs,” he told The Daily Telegraph, recalling how syndication rules changed too late for him to benefit.
Still, Shatner insisted the series paid him well enough at the time, even if he was left struggling with a dissolving marriage and three children to support.
