Meghan Markle accused of mocking Prince Harry online with birthday post

Meghan Markle’s birthday post for Prince Harry has sparked backlash online with critics branding it “insulting” and “cringe.”

On Sept. 15, the Duchess of Sussex celebrated Harry’s 41st birthday by sharing a throwback photo of him from 2015, when he attended the Battle of Britain 75th anniversary flypast at Goodwood Aerodrome. 

In the snap, Harry, then 31, was in uniform, still sporting a fuller head of hair. Meghan captioned the shot: “Oh hi, Birthday Boy.”

But the choice of photo, taken years before the couple even met, didn’t land well with royal watchers. 

One user on X fumed: “This real? Omg Meghan hates Harry, using a 10-year-old photo with him with hair, how insulting.” Another blasted the post as “cringe off the charts for an old photo.”

Others accused Meghan of making the tribute about herself rather than Harry, with one writing: “She didn’t even know him then. Could she have picked a worse photo?”
