Calls grow to exile Prince Andrew from royal life after funeral appearance

Prince Andrew’s appearance at the Duchess of Kent’s funeral on September 16 has reignited fury among royal fans, with many insisting he should be permanently banned from attending any royal events.

The 65-year-old Duke of York, who stepped away from public duties after his links to convicted paedophile Jeffrey Epstein, was spotted at Westminster Cathedral speaking with senior royals, including Prince William.

While the funeral was considered a private family occasion, its public setting left many questioning why Andrew was present at all.

According to a poll conducted by the Express, which saw 6,132 votes cast between September 19 to 24, an overwhelming 5,026 people said Andrew should not be invited to any royal events, including private family gatherings.

Another 729 voters said he should attend some, 322 backed him for all events, while 55 remained undecided.

Royal watchers were quick to vent their anger online.

One wrote: “He can’t not attend funerals, but he needs to keep a low profile. He’s an embarrassment to the Royal Family and the UK.”

Another added: “His behaviour has been appalling, why invite him at all?”
