American TV presenter Bill Nye granted a Hollywood Walk of Fame on Monday
Bill Nye, who is famous for his show Bill Nye the Science Guy, celebrated a career milestone with his family after being awarded with Hollywood Walk of Fame.
Although the 69-year-old host celebrated this breakthrough achievement, Bill’s honour was heavily contested by fans on social media.
After the pictures and videos began to make the rounds on the internet, the online community questioned his contributions that are being acknowledged.
One of the X users asked: “What did he do? I can make a potato clock too y’know,” while another poked fun at the honour by remarking: “Because of his excellent acting skill?”
However, a third netizen seemingly felt it was nothing special, noting: “For teaching 5 year olds how to talk to each other with two cups.”
Meanwhile, many were hit with nostalgia upon hearing the news as an admirer requested: “Put some request on the man who made science cool for an entire generation.”
Similar comment was made by a netizen who grew up watching him, revealing: “He legit is what got me into sciences and engineering. He deserves it.”

Previously, the host was awarded with an Emmy award for his contribution to the show and then was named the winner at “regional Steve Martin lookalike contest.”
