Coldplay frontman Chris Martin, known for his chart-topping hits, has made a shocking confession about how he deals with his haters.
The 47-year-old singer admitted he sometimes questions whether he should tone down his message of peace after being worn down by online negativity.
The Viva la Vida hitmaker, who has long championed equality, kindness and unity, revealed he often faces backlash simply for encouraging people to love one another.
Speaking to Hits Radio, he said: “Almost every time I’ve said anything about empathy or equality, it somehow goes viral in a negative way.
People get angry because I want to love all people. I’m not angry back, but I did wonder – should I stop saying we welcome everyone?
The answer is no. I’ll never stop, and if it angers people, I love those people too.”
Next year marks the band’s 30th anniversary, but despite the criticism, A Sky Full of Stars singer remains focused on those who truly matters.
“If our songs can make someone’s day a little better or help them accept themselves, then I know I’m not wasting my time.”
Most recently, Coldplay became the first band in history to sell more than 13 million tickets for a single tour.
