Coldplay’s Chris Martin reportedly made a joke about unemployment amid the band’s record breaking, highly successful shows.

The British boy band has become the first ever band to sell more than 13million tickets for a single tour, but that didn’t stop the lead singer from remarking about joblessness.

As per a report by The Mirror, the 48-year-old performed at an 'Indian summer' party which was apparently hosted by Swiss singer-songwriter Miel de Botton in her Hampshire home for around 70 guests.

“There were more people in the toilets at Wembley than there are here,” Chris stated to the crowd at the location, marking a comparison between them and his whopping 82,000 average concertgoers at a Wembley stadium.

He also joked, “I’m now unemployed” while he is reportedly supposed to cash in millions from the small gig, but has vowed to donate the money to charitable causes.

Meanwhile Coldplay’s tour success is reportedly historic, as they are estimated to become one of the UK’s highest paid performers ever.

The band is estimated to have generated £1billion when the tour concludes, surpassing the likes of Sir Elton John.

This figure also excludes merchandise sales, which are independently a great source of income as well.
